通樣做是對創業宣傳的致命打擊，因為投資人希望看到的都是投資的理由，所以創業者會拼命宣揚自己的優點。

但神奇的是格里斯科姆這種違反慣例的做法居然奏效了，babel獲得了美元的投資。兩年之後格里斯科姆如法炮製，他向迪士尼推銷bel的時候列出了babel的幾大陷。
